BISCO^® Silicone Foam is a synthetic silicone rubber product produced by Rogers Corporation. BISCO^® Silicone Foam is available in both open and closed cell forms. Laser processing BISCO^® Silicone Foam is possible with a 9.3 or a 10.6 micron CO₂ laser. The energy from a 1.06 micron fiber laser is not absorbed by BISCO^® Silicone Foam and is not recommended for use with this material. Laser cutting of BISCO^® Silicone Foam with a CO₂ laser produces a sharp cut with a slightly charred edge which can be cleaned after processing. Laser engraving of BISCO^® Silicone Foam with a CO₂ laser produces depth with some debris on the surface which can be easily removed. Laser marking of BISCO^® Silicone Foam is not possible with the 1.06, 9.3, or 10.6 micron wavelengths.
